With the spring breeze in the afternoon of March 5, Guangzhou Daily came the heavy news: Guangzhou soccer team will tomorrow (March 6) to start the intense preparation for the new season.
In the much-anticipated Guangzhou team shareholding reform dynamics, originally expected to become the new owner of the Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, and Evergrande's negotiations ended in a loss. In the new season, the flag of Guangzhou team is still held high by Evergrande Group, realizing the wholly-owned holding.
Guangzhou Daily revealed that the team will assemble at their training base in Panyu around March 6, ready to go. Given the massive loss of core players last season, the new Guangzhou team will be under the command of head coach Liu Zhiyu, with those young players born in '01 who fought in the AFC Champions League last year as the base of the team, while incorporating a group of youngsters selected from soccer schools.
