A recent storm swept through the Chinese Super League as Wuhan Football Club was severely punished by the CFA for violating regulations. Since September 24, 2021, Wuhan has been suspended from bringing in new players until the penalties are completed.
The CFA clearly stated in the penalty announcement: "Wuhan Football Club failed to complete the judgment of (2021) Football Ruling No. 33 made by the CFA Ruling Committee and the disciplinary decision of (2021) Football Disciplinary No. 97 made by the CFA Disciplinary Committee on time. In accordance with the provisions of Article 79 and Article 12 of the CFA Disciplinary Guidelines, the CFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed the following penalties:
From September 24, 2021, Wuhan Football Club is prohibited from registering any new players (whether domestic or international in scope). This ban applies to all Men's 11-a-side teams affiliated with Wuhan Football Club, from the first team to all levels of youth teams. The ban will only be lifted after Wuhan Football Club completes the relevant CFA resolutions and obtains approval.
We expect all relevant parties to respect and strictly implement the effective resolutions or judgments of the CFA, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, FIFA, and the Asian Football Confederation, and to work together to maintain the order of the field of play and a favorable environment for the development of soccer."
