Portuguese-born player Diego Sousa, landed in Chinese soccer in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee of €5.4 million, joining Shenzhen Jiazhaoye. In just over a year, he made 10 appearances for Shenzhen, contributing three goals. After that, he had a loan spell in Portugal with Benfica and Famaricom.
