The former international from Cameroon first landed in China in 2016, joining Hebei Huaxia Wonderful (now renamed Hebei). Two years later, he chose to return to China once again, joining Wuhan Zall (now renamed Wuhan).In 2020, Mbia moved to Shanghai Shenhua, and then to Wuhan as a free agent in March 2021, only to terminate his contract with the team in the middle of the year.
