On June 13, Portugal's newspaper Record revealed that FC Porto has shown strong interest in South Korean center back Kim Min-Ja of Beijing Guoan and has started to plan his transfer.

It has been reported that Kim's contract with Beijing Guoan will expire at the end of the year, and it has been analyzed that there is a strong possibility that he will join the Porto camp after his contract expires. The Record further reveals that Kim is now a free agent eligible to enter into transfer negotiations with any club. Porto are weighing whether to pay a transfer fee in advance to lock up Kim or wait until the transfer window opens next January to bring him in as a free agent.

Meanwhile, another Portuguese media outlet, Sic Noticias, had broken the news that Kim Min Jae had agreed a five-year deal with Serie A giants Juventus. However, Kim confessed at a press conference for the South Korean national team that he had not yet reached the level to join Juventus and was still in the wait-and-see phase.
