Although there were a couple of moments in the game that put us on the back foot, in the end, we won with a great performance."
He went on to elaborate, "In another tournament, if we had a two-goal lead at halftime, our focus would have shifted to solid defense in the second half. I was immensely pleased with the way the team held on to win. Our offense was on fire in the first half, while the second half was at a very different pace, with a lot of breaks in play and injuries. However, as a whole, our defense did a pretty good job."
Speaking about the equalizing goal, Eddie Howe confessed, "There's a certain ambiguity in the rules about that goal, and I'm not sure of the criteria for defining it. Obviously the ball touched Jolington's hand, that's undeniable. But since then, I think it was a fantastic goal. The team showed indomitable spirit and excellent teamwork in that moment."
He also singled out Jacob Murphy: "Murphy has been particularly impressive in recent matches and today he again contributed a key goal. Murphy is skillful and aware on the field and has worked hard for his team's victory."
