In the 20th round of the English Premier League, Arsenal drew 1-1 with Brighton away from home. After the match, Arsenal defense center Carafiore made a multi-angle analysis of the day's game in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports.
"I think this was a game where we actually had more potential and room to dominate the game," Calafiori said bluntly, "especially when we took the lead in the first half and deserved to capitalize on it to extend our advantage. Unfortunately, we were unable to capitalize on that opportunity."
Calafiori further dissected his team's mistakes, "I don't understand why we made so many cheap mistakes, which should never happen in a game. Maybe we were too conservative and allowed the other team to have too much possession and thus the opportunity to counterattack. This is something we have to deeply reflect on and improve."
Despite failing to win the match, Calafiori emphasized the importance of the team's mentality, "Although it was not a catastrophic loss, we cannot ignore the problems that were exposed during the match. We must remain positive and focus fully on the next showdown for a win."
He also made a special mention of the upcoming semi-final of the English League Cup: "In three days' time, we will face a new challenge against Newcastle United. It will be a crucial battle and we must give our all to try to advance. This is not the moment to think about the championship, but to focus on ourselves and improve our performance."
