On December 23rd in the Beijing time zone, a breaking news quickly spread in the Brazilian media circle: the famous player Oscar is about to return to his old club São Paulo as a free agent.

On social media, media personality Uriel Iugt revealed that Oscar's negotiations with São Paulo have made a breakthrough in just a few hours, with the two sides having officially reached an agreement. The contract will reportedly anchor Oscar's career at São Paulo once again until December 2027

Brazilian media UOL further revealed that Oscar will play a key role in the new season's Sao Paulo team. Back in early December, talks between the two sides had already begun quietly, and team coach Zubeldia had a 30-minute in-depth exchange with Oscar.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Seaport had extended an olive branch to Oscar, offering a pre-tax contract extension of up to $3 million, according to industry insider Song Chengliang. However, the huge difference in treatment between the two contracts created an insurmountable psychological barrier for Oscar.

Since joining Shanghai Seaport, Oscar has made 248 league appearances, scoring 77 goals and dishing out 141 assists, helping the team win three Chinese Super League titles (2018, 2023, 2024) and one Super Cup (2019).
