In the thrilling extra time session of this tournament, Uzbekistan and Spain were in full swing, while our focus was on Argentina. Their injury time was an unbelievably long 15 minutes or more, almost double the 8 minutes of extra time in the Uzbekistan-Spain game.
Such a long extra time was certainly a valuable opportunity for the underdog Argentina to turn the game around. As expected, they miraculously scored a goal in the 105th minute at 324 seconds (as shown in the picture above) to draw with Morocco.
The brilliance of that goal was simply breathtaking. First, the Argentine player had a shot from outside the penalty area that was parried by the opposing goalkeeper, and then he followed up decisively with a powerful follow-up shot. The ball bounced off the post after hitting the keeper and magically bounced back, the Argentine player then leapt high into the air and struck the ball with a header that hit the crossbar and bounced back. In the end, Medina showed exceptional luck in front of the goal, as the ball seemed to be specially designed for him, falling lightly over his head, and all he had to do was to leap and put the ball into the net.
After Argentina equalized, the goal instantly became the focus of the game, and the referee blew the whistle for the end of the match at that moment. As the match came to an end, the crowd was in an instant mess, while the players from both sides quickly retreated to the locker room.
It's worth noting that the total length of injury time in this match was almost 16 minutes, and despite several attempts at stalling, Morocco were unable to prevent Argentina from equalizing.
The Argentinian National Olympic team has a similar style to the national team, both are typically slow to get going. It wasn't until they were two goals down that they really unleashed their fighting spirit and strength to the crowd.
