Straightaway, May 29: Recently, Dujacic publicly expressed his desire to be naturalized on his personal social media. In response, Football Daily quickly contacted him to confirm this intention.
On social media, Dugaric wrote: "Hello everyone. I would be overjoyed to receive Chinese citizenship, as I am eager to play for the Chinese national team, which would be an honor for me. I am sure that I will bring energy, passion, fighting spirit and combativeness to the national team. China and Serbia are as close as brothers, both countries have good interaction at the international level, and I am sure it will all work out well and China will win."
Soccer Daily reporter further contacted Dugaric, who elaborated on his initial choice of naturalization, "I am at the peak of my career and know that I still have more potential to contribute to the cause of soccer. My daily life is closely linked to soccer, and I hope to show myself through the platform of the Chinese national team and help the team to compete in international competitions."
According to Football Daily, Dugalic has yet to meet the time requirements needed for naturalization. He joined Meizhou Hakka in April 2022 to kick off his journey to the Chinese Super League. To meet the conditions for naturalization, he will need to play in China for another two and a half years. By then, he will be 34 years old.
