The night is low and the Brazilian soccer world is in an uproar. A franchise agreement has brought former superstar Oscar to FC São Paulo in the far east.

The latest update on social media from media personality Uriel Iugt reveals that Oscar's negotiations with São Paulo were like a blitzkrieg, which was brought to a successful conclusion in a matter of hours. The free agent will wear the São Paulo uniform until the winter of 2027.

UOL reports that Oscar's journey to Sao Paulo will be full of glory. Coach Zubeldia himself has been on hand to speak in depth with Oscar for about 30 minutes since negotiations kicked off in early December.

However, Shanghai Seaport's retention was equally dramatic. Song Chengliang revealed that they extended an olive branch to Oscar for a $3 million pre-tax extension, but the contract gap was so large that it left Oscar struggling on a psychological level.

Looking back at Oscar's time at Shanghai Seaport, the glory of 248 games, 77 goals, 141 assists, three Chinese Super League titles (2018, 2023, 2024) and one Super Cup title (2019) will be a cherished memory of his career.
