Chen Yong took to his social media platforms to praise the heroics of Taishan and Shenhua in the AFC Champions League.

Two Chinese Super League (CSL) powerhouses led the way in the first round of the new AFC Champions League's East Asian Division, both winning in emphatic fashion. Shandong Taishan defeated Central Coast Mariners 3-1, while Shanghai Shenhua beat Pohang Steelers 4-1.

In response to the performance of these two Chinese Super League giants, Chen Yong expressed his opinion: "Once Taishan team arrived at the AFC Champions League, they were as unstoppable as a fierce tiger descending from the mountain. Even in the toughest moments, they were able to rebound with their AFC Champions League performances, accumulating a wealth of AFC Champions League experience. I have even more respect for Shenhua's performance. They didn't qualify for the AFC Champions League last year, and this is their first time back in the tournament. As Slutsky said, they may have been a bit uncomfortable at first, but they quickly adjusted to the situation. In fact, willpower and motivation are the key."
