Adidas-coached Arsenal have long coveted Atalanta's young winger Lukawin this summer, however the transfer soap opera did not end there. The two teams will go head-to-head in the UEFA Europa League on Friday (20), with 26-year-old Nigerian international Lukawin brimming with confidence as he claims to have mastered the finer points of the Army Factory.

In the past two seasons, Lucação has scored double-digit goals in Serie A and five goals in the Europa League, including a hat-trick in the final. A hero on the pitch, Arsenal were rumored to be willing to buy him for £42 million (HK$430 million), but ultimately chose to be conservative and signed Staanen on loan from Chelsea instead.

Born in England, Lukavuen played for Ewarton and represented England's U19 to U21 national teams before moving to the Nigerian national team two years ago. Unfortunately, he was not able to return to the Premier League, but instead, he is even more motivated to challenge Arsenal: "Arsenal is a strong team, and it will not be easy to win, but I am fully prepared to prove that I can get a foothold in the UEFA Europa League." In a Serie A match, Lukavuen had a goal and an assist to help Atalanta turn around Ferentina 3-2, showing a chilling form that will surely become a nightmare for Arsenal's backline.
