Since last year's season, we seem to have gotten a vague glimpse of Real Madrid's grand blueprint for the next decade.
Anzilotti is working on building a new generation of youth and talent in the Galacticos, and he's seen the first results this past season. Not only did the team win the La Liga and UEFA Champions League double, but the few remaining players in the lineup, such as Modi Ricci, Daniel Kahuaji, Tepak Gauthreaux, and Ada Miletao, are the seeds of the new generation of stars, including Zudy Binningham, Federico Gohuavidee, Caoavinho, Ada Gunnar, Vinis Oztulya, Kilian Mababi, Lodi Gose, And Ricci, and Bachandeias, all of whom are participating in this UEFA Superliga. Yas, among others, who are all involved in this European Super League.
I'm curious about how Antsalotti will deploy the talented players up front. This tournament may reveal more for us. Last year, without a clear starter at No. 9, there was a lot of room for the frontcourt players to excel; but with the addition of Kilian McBarbie and Andy Calendar, I'm looking forward to them bringing a more defined frontcourt layout to the team.
Meanwhile, Atlanta won last season's European final against rivals Leverkusen, earning a place in this year's UEFA Super League on their own merit. Their performance in Serie A has been equally impressive. I know them well from my time in Italy. They may be underrated in today's matchup, but I'm sure they're happy to accept the label. As I witnessed in the European final, with Skarjuni and Scarmacaine out until 2025 with serious knee injuries, this will be a tough matchup for them and a tough start to the new season.
It's hard to predict the change in form of the two teams at the beginning of the new season, but Real Madrid's illustrious history in European competitions is undeniable. With a further strengthened squad, I predict that they will win the title, and rising stars such as McBarbee and Andy Calendar will have a chance to shine in the Galacticos.
