Manchester United had encountered a €70 million (HK$600 million) transfer fee hurdle in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)'s French midfielder Vinlur Ugadi. Faced with this astronomical figure, the Red Devils club decisively gave up, and instead aimed at another Ligue 1 powerhouse Monaco's midfielder Youssouf Kofunna. It is reported that the latter's offer of 35 million euros is only half of Venloure's price.

Sky Sports have revealed that Manchester United have moved quickly to send a representative to make contact with Youssouf Koffiner and make a warm offer. The 25-year-old French international's contract is due to expire at the end of June next year and has yet to be considered for renewal. Given Monaco's eagerness to stop their losses, United are expected to broker the deal for a lower price, around €35 million.

Although AC Milan of Serie A also covet Yusof Kofunna, the Red Devils club are offering a more attractive salary, making the player more likely to become a member of Manchester United.

Youssouf Koffin joined Monaco's Strasbourg youth team back in 2020. His style of play is both offensive and defensive, and he made 175 appearances and scored 7 goals during his time with Monaco's first team. And it's not him himself that United have their heart set on targeting, but another player.

It's worth noting that Youssouf Koffing has represented the French national team twice and featured in both the last World Cup and the current Euros, albeit mainly as a substitute.
