Belgian superstar Lukaku, after a "disastrous" incident in a European country, had to face reality. While anxiously awaiting news of the transfer, he resolutely chose to reduce his salary, after-tax income from 11 million euros to 6 million euros, in order to accelerate the pace of their own transfer.

Lukaku, 31, has played just four games in this year's UEFA Nations League, failing to register a single assist and preventing Belgium from advancing to the top 16. At the moment, his situation looks particularly awkward. After Roma's return to the Premier League, Lukaku will be sold or loaned out again this summer for a transfer fee set at €35 million as he is not part of the team's plans.

This summer, Gandhi will be coaching Napoli with the same philosophy as he did during the Inter Milan years. Lukaku, who won the Serie A title with him, was eager to follow in Gandhi's footsteps and did not hesitate to take a pay cut to join Napoli.

However, there are a couple of conditions for Napoli to buy Lukaku. Firstly, it depends on the progress of the sale of center forward Vitor Ossenhan. Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested, but the deal is yet to be finalized. Secondly, Napoli wants Chelsea to further reduce the transfer fee for Lukaku. After all, "Jaguar" is getting old and not very cost-effective.
