Transfer news exclusively reported that Italian coach Pioli, after a period of negotiation, finally agreed with Saudi Arabia's strong club Ittihad, a three-year coaching contract has been quietly settled. The former coach of AC Milan is about to start a new chapter in the Middle East.

The Etihad finished fifth in last season's league, and in search of a breakthrough, they decisively terminated their contract with Canaldo Magalhaes on Wednesday (3) and quickly set their sights on Stefano Pioli. Pioli's new deal is said to pay him a whopping 18 million euros (HK$150 million) a year, a figure that is four times higher than his previous stint at AC Milan.

Pioli, 58, has had a rich coaching career with Bologna, Inter Milan, Ferentina, Lazio, etc. In the 2021/22 season, he led AC Milan to win the Serie A title, creating the peak of his coaching career. However, last season AC Milan finished second in Serie A and performed poorly in the international league, which eventually led to Pioli's dismissal from the club.
