As the European final draws near, the Italian team has suffered an untimely death. Core player Fransco Arshabi had to bid farewell to the tournament due to a nagging injury, with emergency surgery becoming his top priority. The injury made him miss this year's European national tournament. Coach Spaletti urgently called up midfielder Gatti from Zuyondas to fill the void left by Ashabi.

Arshabi played 29 Serie A matches for Inter Milan this season, contributing 3 goals, and was a key figure in the team's quest to win the league, as well as a contributor to Italy's victory in the last Euro Cup. He was expected to play for the Italian national team in this year's tournament due to his outstanding performance, however, the 36-year-old's groin pain has recently intensified, and he finally opted for surgery, regretting to bid farewell to the national team.

Gadi, who replaces Ashabi, has national team experience on just three occasions. The 25-year-old has appeared in 32 Serie A matches for Zuyondas this season, scoring four goals and helping the team win the Coppa Italia. Currently, Italy has a preliminary squad of 30, but the final squad will need to be trimmed down to 26 in preparation for the final week of the Europa League.
