In Monday's (11th) dawn Serie A match, Roma played a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina at home, and the match was full of gunpowder. Roma's goal scorer Lukaku was shown a red card by the referee after he hit his opponent with a rough ball. This marks the first time that the 30-year-old Belgian international has been shown a red card in his 388th game in Europe's top five leagues. More unfortunately, teammate Salivisky was also sent off for yellow card accumulation, and striker partner Paulo Daibana was injured, so Roma scored a point, but paid a painful price.

Roma broke the deadlock just five minutes into the match when Paulo Dabbana's precise cross from the right was met by Lukaku's header. However, it didn't last long as Paulo Dabbana left the field after 25 minutes due to an injury. In the 64th minute, a controversial incident occurred when the referee showed Roma midfielder Salivisky a yellow card after a minor foul, resulting in the Polish international being sent off after two yellows turned into a red. Just two minutes later, Fiorentina's center back Martinez Guada scored a header to make it 1-1.

Roma players became increasingly agitated as the game progressed and Lukaku was again shown a red card by the referee in the 87th minute of the game for a vicious shove. Lukaku had previously received red cards in cup competitions, but this was his first red card in the Premier League and Serie A since 388 league games.
