The Italian media has disclosed that Napoli striker Vitor Ossenhan has agreed with the club to extend his contract until the end of summer 2026. In addition to a rise in his annual salary to 10 million euros (about HK$84 million), the club has also promised not to intervene in his transfer for next season, a decision that has led to the agreement.

In last season's Serie A, Vidal Ossenhan made 32 appearances and scored 26 goals, which was a key player in his team's championship victory and won the title of top scorer. This summer, a number of clubs expressed interest in acquiring him, but Napoli offered a transfer fee threshold of 150 million euros (about 1.26 billion Hong Kong dollars) is too high, so the deal was shelved, which also made Vidal Ossenhan feel extremely unhappy. To make matters worse, the club released a short video satirizing Ossenhan on social media, almost bringing the relationship to an end and stalling contract renewal talks as a result.

With only a year and a half left on Vidal Ossenhan's contract, the Napoli management eventually relented and agreed to raise his annual salary to €10 million with the additional clause that the club would agree to release him if another club made a higher offer for the upcoming season.
