The English soccer world has lost a legend, former national team manager Werner Pauls passed away on Sunday (26) due to a long-term illness at the age of 80. His family released a statement on the same day, and many of his former disciples, such as Leniga, have also sent out messages of condolence.

Winnipeg's coaching career has taken him to England and Spain, where he has been at the helm of Crystal Palace, QPR, Tottenham Hotspur, etc. Between 1984 and 1987, he traveled to Barcelona, Spain, where he successfully led his team back to the league championship, making him the first English coach to have achieved remarkable success overseas.

When England failed to qualify for the final week of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Wennapolis was given the job of coaching the talented midfielder Gasciani, who had lost his way in Serie A. In 1996, he guided the England national team to the quarterfinals of the UEFA European Championships, but was defeated by Germany on penalties, which was the pinnacle of his coaching career. Ten years later, he returned to the England national team as an assistant coach, assisting McCallum, but failed to help the team reach the final week of the European Cup two years later.
