This Saturday (18th) at dawn, Italy will welcome North Macedonia in the European Cup qualifiers. The midfielder has regained his place in the team after a five-month absence, but the two missed penalties against Switzerland in the last World Cup qualifiers were the "main culprits" for the team's failure to qualify for the final week of the competition. However, Zorzino is confident that he won't be afraid to take on the role of "enforcer" if Coach Spalletti asks him to do so.

Zorzino was last selected for the Italian team in the UEFA Europa League in June of this year, and the Brazilian-born player has not been utilized since the new coach Spaletti took over the helm. His return to the national team this time around is due in large part to the suspension of Sindo Donnelly for a gambling offense, which made way for his return to the squad.

With Italy's next two matches in the Europa League on the line, the question of whether or not Zorzino will take a penalty again is in the spotlight. He said, "The controversy about the previous missed penalties will not affect me, I can't wait to get back on the field now, if the team gets a penalty and I'm needed to execute it, I'll never back down, even though the coach hasn't decided on a candidate yet, I'm ready for it."
