In the early hours of Sunday morning (24th), Serie A saw a shocking comeback as Sassuolo beat Juventus 4-2 on their home turf, ending their rivals' undefeated season, a victory that paid 70 times the odds. Juventus' goalkeeper Stefan Schjesny missed three times and was the scapegoat for his team's defeat. Although Juve do not need to be distracted by European competitions in the league, their league results are still unsatisfactory, and the road to recovery seems to be out of reach.

Only 12 minutes into the match, Sassuolo's striker Ronnie Andy finished off a long-range shot, while Juventus goalkeeper Stefan Stefanini's misjudgment allowed the ball to fly into his own goal. Despite an unfortunate own goal by the home side's left back Matthias Unner that helped Juventus equalize, a powerful shot by Duvernay Gobelardi late in the first half once again gave Sassuolo the lead.

In the second half of the match, Federico Giacometti equalized for Juventus, but Stastny failed to parry a shot from Sassuolo's striker Binnermondi, who added the second goal. In stoppage time, Stastny's free-kick was a poor one, which led to another own goal by Gatti, who was in a panic and missed the return pass. Juventus lost 2-4, with only three wins, one draw and one loss in five matches in the season so far.

Juventus' defense has been in poor form, with three of the goals conceded being directly linked to goalkeeper Stefan Stjesny, but coach Arrighi has remained steadfast in his support of the 33-year-old Poland international and has said that he will continue to be the starting goalkeeper.
