Transfer weathervane Romano reporter revealed that the top figures of Roma soccer club has arrived in London, and started a negotiation with Chelsea about the loan of Lukaku. Chelsea's coach, ex-Manchester United manager Molenu, has publicly expressed the club's interest in bringing in two strikers, which seems to indicate that the inch king Molenu and Lukaku may have a third cooperation after coaching Chelsea and Manchester United.

It is reported that Roma wants to loan Lukaku for one season only, and does not include a buyout clause. Chelsea, on the other hand, demanded that Roma pay a substantial loan fee and bear all of Lukaku's salary during the loan period. Lukaku's weekly salary is as high as 325,000 pounds (about 3.2 million Hong Kong dollars), Roma want to bear only half of the salary, which has become a key point of difference in the negotiations between the two sides.

Given that Roma striker Tammy Abakian has been out of action for six months with a serious injury, the team is in dire need of additional striking power. When asked about the possibility of loaning Lukaku, Molenu responded: The club has told me that after signing Asmon (Iranian international), they will bring in another striker. Of course I'm happy about that, but I can't comment on Asmon's signing as it hasn't been finalized yet. As for Lukaku, he is still a Chelsea player.
