Chilean international Alexis Sanchez and FC Inter Milan have reached a preliminary agreement on his return as a free agent, signing a one-year contract with the team, according to Italian media.
Sanchez, 34, played three seasons for Inter Milan between 2019 and 2022, making 109 appearances, scoring 20 goals and winning a number of accolades including the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia. He joined Marseille as a free agent after his contract expired last season and remained in excellent form, contributing 18 goals and three assists in 44 games. Despite this, Sanchez did not renew his contract with Marseille and rejected several lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, with only one goal in mind - a return to Inter Milan. Now, his wish has finally come true.
