Atlanta FC, after selling their top striker, Horant, to Manchester United for a whopping 72 million pounds (about HK$720 million), have gained a lot of financial strength. Not long ago, they bought striker Abilatoni of La Liga rivals Emilia for 28 million euros (about HK$240 million). Immediately after that, Atlanta did not slow down their pace and plan to bring in Westham striker Schickamarca for another 25 million euros (about HK$215 million) to fill the vacancy of Horant.
Schickamaka, 24, moved to Westham from Serie A's Sassuolo for a transfer fee of more than £30 million (about HK$300 million) last summer. However, his performance with the team has not lived up to expectations, with only eight goals in 27 matches, and the team is therefore interested in selling him.
Several top European clubs, such as Inter Milan and Roma, had their eyes on Schickamaka. But thanks to the big money Atalanta received from the transfer of Horant, they were able to act more decisively. An agreement has been reached with Westham and Schickamaka will travel to Italy for a medical test. Unsurprisingly, he will be offered a deal worth €2.8 million (about HK$240 million) a year.
