Saudi Arabia's powerhouse Hilal had spared no expense in targeting Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kilian McBarbie for a whopping 300 million euros (about HK$2.57 billion), however the French international has surprisingly declined to join him. According to the Daily Mail, Hilal has adjusted its strategy and instead plans to seek a £120 million (HK$1.2 billion) offer for Napoli's leading scorer Vitor Ossenhan.
Osungham was honored as the top scorer in Serie A last season after scoring 26 goals and helping Napoli win the league title. The 24-year-old Nigerian international has also attracted the attention of top clubs such as Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Napoli's bid of £170 million (HK$1.7 billion) for Osungham has deterred many potential buyers.
While Hilal's current offer of £120 million may still not be enough to impress Napoli, as a Saudi powerhouse with deep pockets, they don't seem to be afraid to up the ante. Given that Ossenhan only has two years left on his contract, Napoli might consider taking advantage of the opportunity.
