According to Italian media, current Spanish star Evalu Morada has secretly accepted an offer from AS Roma, agreeing to a four-year deal with an annual salary of up to 4.5 million euros (about HK$39.6 million). Currently, he is actively discussing the termination of his contract with Atletico Madrid with a view to making an early return to Italian soccer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport further revealed that apart from Roma, AC Milan as well as clubs from Saudi Arabia have also shown keen interest in the 30-year-old goalscorer. Morada himself preferred to stay and play in Europe, convinced that coach Molenu's tactical system - the double-arrow formation - was more in line with his style of play, as well as the opportunity to play alongside former Juventus teammate Paulo Dabbana. As a result, he finally chose Roma and has agreed on personal terms for a four-year deal with an annual salary of €4.5 million.
Although Morada had a release clause of up to 21.5 million euros (about HK$189 million) between him and Atletico Madrid, the clause expired on June 30th. If Morada chooses to renew his contract for a new one, the release fee will be reduced to 12 million euros (about HK$105 million), but this is not mandatory, but rather a tacit agreement between Morada and Atletico.
