Chelsea's summer window purge has yet to come to an end, with the club agreeing to postpone the return of Lukaku, Scherzinger and Aubameyang until next Monday (17th), according to the Daily Mail. The move is intended to give the players more of a buffer period to deal with transfer issues, suggesting that the club has no intention of keeping them.
The trio, who were expected to return to the team on Wednesday (12), have been postponed to next week for some reason. Lukaku, a 30-year-old Belgian international who was on loan at Inter Milan last season, is inclined to continue playing for the Serie A side, however, due to Inter's financial constraints, the most they can offer is a buyout fee of 30 million pounds (about HK$300 million). Chelsea, on the other hand, are expecting a transfer fee of at least 40 million pounds (about HK$400 million), and the differences between the two sides are obvious.
Rumor has it that another Serie A giants, Juventus, are also interested in Lukaku and have offered goal scorer Dusinho Horwick in exchange. It is expected that all three clubs, as well as Lukaku himself, will need more time to discuss this complicated transfer in depth.
