Manchester United have been salivating over Atalanta's striker Herlander for a long time, however, the transfer fee of up to 100 million euros has deterred the Premier League giants. However, United did not give up, they plan to use two of the team's new stars, Glenwood and Amit Diarlo, as trading chips to try to impress Atalanta to lower the transfer threshold.

Three years ago, Manchester United had brought in Amit Diarou from Atlanta for a fixed transfer fee of 25 million euros and a floating transfer fee of 15 million euros, but due to various reasons, he didn't get enough chances to play, and in recent years, he has been loaned out frequently. Now, United are interested in using the 21-year-old Ivory Coast international as one of the bargaining chips in the deal for Herrant, as well as loaning out Glenwood to Atlanta.

According to the Manchester Evening News in the UK, United have sent their top brass to Atlanta to negotiate the deal, and they are hoping to reduce the transfer fee for Herlander to 45 million euros (HK$390 million) after bringing in the two new stars.
