Unlucky to be relegated to the Championship in the season just ended, Lister City are on the road to revival at a rapid pace. Following the hiring of Italian manager Maresca to take charge last month, the team has once again sparked off a footballing frenzy by bringing in two former England internationals - Haliyunks and Goyardi - in one go, with the intention of making a big splash in the Championship this Saturday (1).
It is worth mentioning that Lister City did not cut down their investment after relegation, instead they made big moves in the transfer market. They signed 30-year-old midfielder Goyardi from Wolves for a whopping £8.5 million (about HK$85 million). The 10-time England national team star, who also performed well when he was loaned out to Ewarton last season, will now be expected to be the centerpiece of Lister City's backline.
