Serie A giants Juventus have suffered a series of blows due to the recent financial fraud scandal - this time they were penalized with a 10-point deduction once again, and the Europa League seat they had secured has gone down the drain again. Despite the fact that Juventus' points deduction has benefited other Serie A teams, Roma manager Jose Mourinho has publicly satirized the decision as "ridiculous". He argued that if he had known that Juve would be deducted points, Roma would not have switched to the Europa League in the league.

Juventus slipped to seventh place after the points deduction, with AC Milan (64), who were fifth, taking advantage of the situation to jump to fourth, while Atalanta (61) and Roma (60) climbed up the table along with them. Mourinho said: "It is a great irony for Juventus and all the teams that the points deduction was not announced until the last two rounds of the league. If I had been informed of this news in advance, I would have had a very different game strategy against Monza and Bologna."
