The "Golden Dollar Era" of the Saudi Arabian League is in full swing, while the "Golden Dollar Splendor" of the Chinese Super League is fading away. Oscar's contract with Shanghai Harbor will come to an end at the end of the month as the last of the Super League's superstar players are about to depart. Under the new season salary cap, the possibility of Oscar's contract renewal is as fleeting as a shooting star passing through the night sky, and ESPN Brasil has revealed that Oscar has reached a preliminary agreement with São Paulo FC to return to Brazil's Primera Division.

Reports indicate that Oscar's transfer to São Paulo is finalized and the two sides are in the final stages of negotiating the details of the contract, which has yet to be clarified as to whether it will be for two or three years. Since Oscar's salary is not apportioned to a sponsor, São Paulo will be solely responsible for the player's salary and waiver fee. In addition, the contract includes additional bonuses linked to the team's championships and individual goals and assists.

Oscar started his journey in the Chinese Super League in January 2017 when he moved from Chelsea to Shanghai Seaport for a transfer fee of €60 million. In his four years at Shanghai Seaport, Oscar made 248 appearances, scoring 77 goals and contributing 141 assists, helping the team win three Chinese Super League titles (2018, 2023, 2024) as well as one FA Cup title (2024). The transfer also fulfills his desire to return to his homeland.

Oscar, 33, is 1.80 meters tall, known for his right foot, and plays mainly as a front man. He is valued at just €4 million in the German transfer market. This season, he has made 29 appearances in the midfield position, scoring 14 goals and assisting 21 times, with his 21 assists setting an all-time single-season record in the Chinese Super League.

It is reported that Oscar's annual salary is as high as 24 million euros, and he has accumulated about 160 million euros (about 1.226 billion yuan) in 7 years of playing in Shanghai harbor. Despite the huge income, Oscar is still known for his dedication and outstanding strength. Journalist Song Chengliang revealed that Shanghai Seaport had offered Oscar an annual contract extension of $3 million before tax, however, the huge income gap makes Oscar's future path clearer.

Goodbye to Oscar, the shining star of the Chinese Super League!
