Chelsea are on the verge of signing 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder Renato Vega from Basel. Renato Vega will reportedly sign until June 2032 after undergoing a medical with the Blues.
Chelsea will pay Basel a transfer fee of 14 million euros in a transfer agreement that does not include a float and resale share clause. Chelsea's plans will see Renato Vega given the opportunity to play in the defensive midfield and wingback positions.
Renato Vega joined Basel from Sporting Portugal for €4.6 million last summer and played 26 games for the team last season, scoring two goals and dishing out one assist in 2,083 minutes of action. His market value is currently around €3 million.
