On the upcoming match Thursday, Brest will face Stras at the Stade de France-Le Boulay. Brest recently extended their longest winning streak in Ligue 1 from last season as they beat Clermont 3-0 at the weekend to improve to seventh place in the league, while Stras lost 0-2 against Reims and are now just one point above the relegation play-off line.

Brest have been in outstanding form in the league of late, with their attacking prowess greatly revitalized by games against Montpellier (3-1) and Clermont. They have scored a total of six goals in their last two Ligue 1 games, a tally that matches their total in their previous nine matches. Their 3-0 win on Sunday was their first three-goal victory since January 2023 when they beat Angers 4-0. They also got their third shutout of the season in their last game and it was their third at home.

New head coach Eric Roy has managed to guide his side to 21 points after 13 rounds of matches in his first full season, their second-best start in Ligue 1 (22 points in 2010-11). Brest have tended to languish at the bottom of the table since returning to Ligue 1 for the 2019-20 season, but if they win Thursday's game, they will overtake Reims for a place in the Europa League group stage. They have earned more than half of their Ligue 1 points at home in 2023-24 (11/21) and have only failed to score against Rennes (0-0) in their home matches.

Strasbourg, on the other hand, made another poor start in their last game as they finished just three points above Clermont, narrowly missing out on relegation. Patrick Vieira's men have always been slow to start throughout the season, conceding their first goal in eight Ligue 1 matches, being outscored by their opponents by 10 goals in the first 45 minutes, and scoring just one goal themselves.

Strasbourg are on a seven-game winless streak in Ligue 1, the longest current winless streak in Ligue 1 and the club's longest winless streak since October 2022-January 2023 (eight games). They have managed to score one goal or less per game in Ligue 1 away matches this season, taking just four of their 18 points. However, Strasbourg are unbeaten in five league games in which they have scored first, and have won four games in 2023-24 after scoring first.

Although things are not looking good for them at the moment, Strasbourg are coming off an impressive Ligue 1 clash with Brest, having lost just one of their last six matches, winning the first four meetings and not losing in their last three visits to the Stade Francis Lebleu.

Considering the recent performances of both teams and their historical head-to-head record, we predict that this match will end in a 1-1 draw. Brest have performed well against weaker opponents, while we think Strasbourg are stronger than their current performance. Vieira is a coach who has a knack for turning dangers into problems, and we're sure his players will quickly adapt to his tactical style, while keeping Strasbourg stronger than they've been so far. Vieira is a resourceful manager who has the ability to turn things around, and we are confident that his players will quickly adapt to his style of play while maintaining their strong performance in the Brittany region.
