Granada will be looking to snap Girona's three-game winning streak in this Monday night match, which is the continuation of their 2023-24 Liga MX season. Mitchell's Girona side are currently second in the table after picking up 10 points from their first four games of the season, while Granada are in 16th place after amassing just three points from their opening four games.

Granada started the season with consecutive losses to Atlético Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, but in their third match at the end of August they beat Mallorca 3-2 for their first win of the season. However, Lopez's side lost 3-5 to Real Sociedad in a match prior to International Day. Only three points from four matches have left Granada in 16th place in the table. They have matches against Girona, Las Palmas and Real Betis up next.

Andalusian side Granada, who returned to La Liga in 2022-23 as La Liga champions, are at the top of the table having amassed 75 points from 42 games. These two teams have not met since the 2010-11 season when they met in Liga B. That game ended on Granada's home turf with a 2-1 victory for Granada.

Meanwhile, Girona have made an excellent start to the season, drawing 1-1 with Real Sociedad in their opening game before beating Getafe, Sevilla and Las Palmas in three consecutive matches. Mitchell's men have picked up 10 points from their four games, which puts them in second place in the table, just two points adrift of leaders Real Madrid.

Girona finished in 10th place in La Liga last season, their best finish in the competition, and they are aiming for a place in a European competition this season. With matches against Granada, Mallorca, Villarreal and Real Madrid still to come this month, Girona's position in the table before the start of October will be notable. Girona have conceded just two goals in their first four games of the season, however Granada have been the worst defensive team, conceding 12 goals in their opening four games.

Granada will not be able to use the injured Jesus Vallejo and Raul Torrent in Monday night's game. The same goes for their match against Real Sociedad before International Day. As for Girona, Borja García, Joel Roca, Ricardo Arturo and Tony Villa will miss the match due to injuries.

Granada's likely starting XI: Fernandez; Sanchez, Rubio, Miquel; Callejon, Meredo, Gumbo, Neiva; Uzuni, Boye, Zaragoza.

Girona's likely starting XI: Gazzaniga; A-, D. Lopez, Brind, Gutierrez; Zigankov, Herrera, A. Garcia, Martin, Savio; Stuani.

Score prediction: Granada 1-1 Girona. Girona are definitely a team to watch out for this season, and they have the potential to hit the top six because of the strength of their squad and great manager. Granada have had a bit of a difficult start to the season, but we believe they can get at least a draw result at home.
