Monchi, who was a goalkeeper in his playing days, has helped Sevilla create their own **brilliance** since retiring, with the La Liga powerhouse winning the UEFA Cup five times in the last 10 years, while in 2007 and 2010 they also won the Copa del Rey on two occasions.

The Malian star had an unsuccessful spell at Tottenham Hotspur, but Monchi still took him in 2005 for €6.5 million. Kanoute went on to have a golden career at Sevilla, scoring 136 goals in 290 matches, helping the team win the UEFA Europa League twice and the Copa del Rey twice, before leaving on a free in 2012 to become the team's top scorer in the 21st century.
