While Leverkusen are not doing well on the field at the moment, their team's midfielder Çalhanoglu has accomplished a major event in his life, as he and his girlfriend officially consummated their marriage in their home country of Turkey.
Originally, Çalhanoglu planned to get married to his girlfriend right after last year's Euros, but due to family reasons, the couple's wedding was postponed until this year. The two have been dating for the past eight years and both were engaged in October 2015.
Leverkusen's teammate, Bellarabi, wished Çağanoglu in his personal page, "I wish you all the happiness in the world." Çalhanoglu is still under a FIFA ban, having previously been banned by FIFA for four months for a previous contract violation.
