Everton midfielder Ross Barkley was hit in the face by an unknown person in an "unprovoked attack" at a bar in Liverpool following last weekend's 4-2 win over Leicester City. According to the BBC, police have contacted Barkley himself and an investigation is underway.

It was reported that the incident took place at a bar called Santa Chupitos, and after the incident, an employee of the bar uploaded the video to the internet, and the bar has fired the employee who uploaded the video.

Barkley, who was a regular participant in team training on Monday, has made 22 appearances for the national team so far and has also been named in the new national team squad.

A native of the city of Liverpool, Barkley joined Everton at the age of 11 and he has now made 173 first team appearances for the club.
