Preston 5-0 Bristol City
At 2:45 a.m. BST on April 5, Bristol City suffered a 0-5 defeat to Preston in the 40th round and are in danger of relegation. This was Bristol City's worst loss since 2011. After the match, the club reimbursed the tickets for the fans who traveled from far and wide to attend the match.
To make it up to the fans who traveled to the away end to cheer their team on, the Bristol City players decided to reimburse the cost of tickets for 312 fans. Head Coach Lee Johnson said, "It shows the players care about the fans. The game humbled them and it was the right thing for them to do."
"The best way to give back to the fans is to put in a good performance in the next game against the Wolves," Johnson added. "The loss was heartbreaking and we need to field players we can trust in the next game against the Wolves."
