A football fan from Germany had a chance to win a massive £29,000 on Manchester City's Champions League night until Sane scored his fifth goal of the game for City.

Malvin Jorres bet €2 (about £1.70) that Atletico Madrid would beat Leverkusen 4-2 and Manchester City would beat Monaco 4-3, and if both scores had been correct Jorres would have won €34,200, but Sane's goal left him out of any prize money.

Jores told Sky Sports Germany: "I was 100% convinced I was going to win the lottery, I thought it was going to be my lucky day. I watched both games at the same time and when City scored their fifth goal I collapsed on the floor and didn't get up for five minutes."

When asked what he would like to say to Sane, Jores held up his lottery ticket and said, "Hey! Leroy, here's my ticket, €34,200, because of your goal it became a piece of paper."

After hearing about Yores' misfortune, Sane tweeted, "I read the news in the paper and had a moment of silence for the unlucky man."
