Specific venues hosting the tournament include ten stadiums in England, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales, such as Wembley Stadium, Glasgow's Hampden Park, Dublin Arena and the National Stadium of Wales, with around three million tickets expected to be made available for fans and the public to snap up.

DATE OF THE MATCH: While the exact date has not been finalized, the final stage of Euro 2028 is expected to take place between June 9 and July 9, 2028. This window of time provides a rough reference for fans planning their trip to the tournament.

Format: In keeping with recent UEFA European Championships, UEFA EURO 2028 is also planned to feature a 24-team group stage. The 24 teams will be divided into six groups, with the top two teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams advancing to the knockout round of 16. The knockout stage will be a single elimination tournament until the final champion is decided. The full rules of the tournament are expected to be finalized approximately two years before the start of the final phase.

Qualifier overview: for the qualifiers, Euro 2028 will have a new format where teams will be divided into 12 groups, each containing four to five teams. The group stage of the qualifiers will begin in March 2027 and is scheduled to end in November 2027. The team that finishes first in its group will qualify directly for the Europa League proper, while the team that finishes second in its group will have to compete for the remaining places through a play-off. The play-offs are expected to take place in March 2028, when they will compete with the teams from the UEFA Nations League for the final chance to qualify.
