Hard Rock Stadium released a statement explaining

America's Cup

The final match was postponed due to the intrusion of ticketless fans into the stadium. The statement mentioned that in order to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the match, the stadium doubled its security force in close cooperation with the South American Football Confederation (CONCACAF), the Confederation of Central American and Caribbean Football (CONCACAF) and local law enforcement agencies. However, that afternoon and evening, a large number of ticketless fans attempted to force their way into the stadium, creating a serious security risk. In order to protect the safety of spectators and staff on site, the stadium took emergency measures, including closing and re-opening the gates, to contain the situation. Eventually, the decision was made to postpone the start of the match after taking into account security considerations. The stadium emphasized that they will work with the relevant organizations to address the issues of affected ticketed fans and work with law enforcement to hold them accountable. Hard Rock Stadium has committed to thoroughly reviewing its security procedures on the night and taking the necessary steps to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
